News update : With the increase in the population of tigers in Sariska, tourists are now having a great time. Tourists coming here are now able to see tigers every day. There is a continuous movement of tigers at sites like Kala Pani, AalGwal, Tarundda. There are also good sightings of tigers in the buffer zone of Sariska around the Bala Fort but after the start of the Navratri fair of Karni Mata seated in the fort, these sightings have now stopped.
There are a total of 43 tigers and tigresses in Sariska at present. Out of these, a tiger ST 2303 from the buffer zone left Sariska on 15 August and went towards Haryana, which has not returned yet. The core area of Sariska has been opened for tourists from 1 October and ST 9 tiger was seen by tourists here yesterday. The tourists who went on safari yesterday enjoyed the sighting of the tiger for a long time. This tiger was seen returning after drinking water. On the other hand, some villages are also being shifted from the core area of Sariska National Park. If this becomes possible, a large area will be available for tigers and their sightings will also increase.
Tourists are continuously coming to see tigers and about 700 tourists are entering the forest for safari every day. These days, there are no free vehicles for safari and most of the vehicles are being booked online. The number of tourists is expected to increase further in the coming days.
Sariska Tiger Foundation director Dinesh Durrani says that there is a discussion about sending tiger 2303 to another tiger reserve but right now there is an empty forest in Sariska itself, where the tiger can be released. There is not a single tiger in Sariska'sKalighati forest right now, this forest is completely empty. More than one tiger can make their territory and live here. The government should release tiger 2303 in the Kalighati forest. Anyway, tiger ST-21 roams only in one zone of Sariska. This tiger keeps attracting tourists, while there are no tigers in other zones of Sariska. There is a need to release the tigers that come out in these empty zones. With this, these tigers will be able to make their territory here and attract tourists.
Sariska Tiger Reserve is spread over an area of 1213 square kilometers and currently there are 43 tigers here. Considering the current number of tigers, the Sariska forest is sufficient, but the problem of tigers moving out of the forest has put the government and Sariska administration in a dilemma. To get rid of this problem, the government is trying to find an easy way to rehabilitate the tigers moving out of Sariska in other tiger reserves of the state. These days, there is a lot of discussion about shifting a tiger from Sariska to another tiger reserve.
