Best time to visit Sariska

All national parks and protected reserves of India are closed for tourists during monsoon season, means no tourism activities are allowed. But there is something special about Sariska National Park that is open for the jeep safari tour for the visitors throughout the year even during the monsoon season. You can visit Sariska from 01st of January to 31st of December every year. Magical tiger land is best for tiger sighting in every season but from the month of November to April is an ideal time to visit Sariska Tiger Reserve as weather is pleasant and nature is in full blossom during this time.

Visiting Sariska in Winter Season (October - March)

The winter season October to March is considered as the best season to explore the flora and fauna of Sariska national Park. It is so because during winter season forest boasts with greenery after rainy season making its aura very pleasing and delightful. The flowers are in full bloom which adds extra beauty to the surroundings and water bodies lakes are all on full peak. Apart from that Sariska is heaven for bird lovers in winter season as many migratory birds come to here in winter. Last December and early January is biting cold time in Sariska so if you are visiting during mild winter please carry enough woolen clothes.

Visiting Sariska in Summer Season (April to June)

Since Sariska is located in the Alwar districts of Rajasthan hence the summer season from April to June is very harsh and hot weather. The tiger reserve is rally very hot during day time and the temperature usually goes higher in afternoon. But you can go for morning jeep / canter safari in Sariska national park. Summer is considered best time to visit Sariska for two important reason – one there is less crowd in this season and second there is a high probability of sighting majestic royal Bengal tiger resting in wilderness. As most of the wildlife species come out and roam in and around water bodied to quench their thrust. Do not forget to carry sunscreen, scarves and cotton clothes in this summer season.

Visiting Sariska Monsoon Season (July to September)

But there is something special about Sariska National Park that is open for the jeep safari tour for the visitors throughout the year even during the monsoon season. The forest department of Sariska started jungle safari in Bala Quila buffer zone of the park with an intention to promote ecotourism in the area where the focus on showing the natural soundness of the forest rather than wildlife sightings. The tourism of buffer zone in Sariska takes you to the area like Siliserh, Bala Quila and Dadikar forest area.

  • Book your safari in advance, especially if you are visiting during the peak season.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you can move around in easily.
  • Bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat.
  • Bring a camera with a zoom lens.
  • Be respectful of the wildlife and do not disturb them.
